The acronym COSASE in full stands for Committee on Commissions, Statutory Authorities and State Enterprises an accounting committee of Parliament Uganda.
COSASE provides a political audit to government state authorities to ensure accountability and oversight.
The 20 man committee is constituted by diffrent party whips to ensure a balance between the ruling majority party and the back bench.
Although its equally constituted between the ruling and opposition party members, COSASE is chaired and deputized by a member of the opposition party in Parliament.
As of April 2019, COSASE, is chaired by Kawempe South Member of Parliament (Mugaati Gwa Bata) Mubarak Munyagwa and deputized by Ibrahim Kasozi.
Munyagwa replaced Abdul Katuntu and Anita Amongi who investigated Bank Of Uganda and the Closure of seven Banks including Crane Bank owned by Business Mogul Shudir Ruparellia.
