Who is Faty Papy

Footballer Faty Papy was a Burundi born footballer who played for the Burundi Male National football side The Swallows.

Faty also played for Eswatini football side Malanti Chiefs among others.

On 25th April 2019, while playing for Eswatini side Malanti Chiefs against Green Mamba, the Burundi International collapsed and died.

Faty had previously been sent to South Africa on loan from Malanti Chiefs to South African Club Bidvest Wits.

It’s reported that while in South Africa Faty Papy developed a heart problem prompting the South African club to send him back to his mother club.



On his maiden match for his mother club Malanti Chiefs, the player collapsed and was pronounced dead.

Faty who had previously played for Trabzonspor was due to feature for Burundi in the 2019 AFCON in Egypt.
